About the Event

Join us for breakfast and an informative session and training on Suicide Prevention.

The event will be held at Clintonville Woman's Club on September 17th, 11:00-2:00pm, hosted by Women Just Like Me and several young ladies who are participants in our programs. The event will serve as a Suicide Prevention Training for parents, and individuals who work with children and young adults. The event will begin with our guest speaker Sommer Godbolt sharing her story of surviving suicide and mental health.

Sommerlee Godbolt, a partner of Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation, and a change maker in our community by advocating for equality and restoring justice for those who are at a disadvantage through her own nonprofit will share her story on surviving suicide. She is a remarkable and resilient individual who can best connect with our girls, young women and share with parents and those who work with young adults on where to get help.

Breakfast will be served and a 2-hour training with our panel of mental health experts will follow. This event is also inclusive of a diverse panel of mental health specialist who will share their professional background, experience, tools, and answer the questions from our attendee's. The goals are to inform you on how to hear, see, and know the warning signs of suicide risks and behaviors, significant increase of suicide knowledge and to lessen the stigma of mental health illness. Coupled with this mission, the girls will be recognized for organizing this event. participation in Women Just Like Me programs, and give a tribute to families who have been impacted.
