About the Event
The GHRO Your Future Capstone is our end of program showcase, where our cohort comes together to display the skills and projects they’ve developed over the course of the program.
This year, our theme is Together We GHRO: Women's Mental Health in Columbus. Our students will present their projects focusing on the mental health of women from the Dominican Republic, India, Somalia, China, and Ethiopia, celebrating the diversity of our city and advocating for positive mental health resources and prevention.
GHRO programming addresses individuals and community-level risk factors, including low self-esteem, poor social skills, low commitment to school, and widespread youth violence. By incorporating protective strategies, like emotional self-regulation, problem solving skills, mentorship, and deeper engagement with schools, peers, and the community, girls build an arsenal of skills over eight months to improve their academic performance, social-emotional development, and future-planning skills.
